Description
Usually electrical conductors are attached in cable lugs by soldering. This procedure shows some noticeable drawbacks. So it can be B. easily happen with strands that tin between the Conductor parts lying outside the cable lug flows and stiffens them so that they break easily. At the same time, the tin can damage the insulation of the conductor bundle.
The conductor can also be connected to the cable lug without soldering by what is known as contact pressure take place in which a high pressure is exerted on the cable lug and conductor, so that a Deformation of the material occurs. In this case, cable lugs are used that are made from pipes or from Pipes with an inserted connecting tongue exist, d. that is, the cable is in contact compression in general surrounded by a tube into which various notches are pressed. Such cable lugs are relatively expensive and also have the disadvantage that they are quite the wire gauge used must be precisely adapted.
Cable lugs are also known in which the sleeves have an axial gap and in which the connection between the sleeve and the conductor is also made by contact pressure. With these cable lugs the gap is usually bridged metallurgically, for example by welding or soldering. Finally, it is also known, in the case of cable lugs with an open axial gap, the connection to the conductor to be produced by contact pressing. With these cable lugs, however, the sleeve occurs after the deformation forming sheet metal tabs a springback of the tab ends, whereby the axial slot opens somewhat and the conductor is loosened in the sleeve.
The invention aims to develop a method according to which from flat metal sheets with a gap Manufactured cable lugs of any size can be connected to the conductor by contact pressing can without the gaps in the sleeves having to be bridged metallurgically and without through a springback of the material occurring after the deformation a divergence of the sheet metal tabs and thus a loosening of the conductor in the sleeve occurs.
The method according to the invention is characterized by the simultaneous use of two known deformations of the sleeve in such a way that those adjacent to the slot and into the conductor pressed-in ends of the sleeve parallel to the conductor axis and at the bottom by the butt abutting Edges of the sleeve ends limit the recess formed and from the opposite of this recess Grooves parallel to the conductor axis are pressed into the conductor on the side of the sleeve.

The new process has considerable advantages. You can use a cheap cable lug and receives an extremely reliable fastening of the strands in a single operation Cable lug, which is otherwise so disadvantageous due to the partial division of the conductor into two conductor halves The springback of the material is used to close the sleeve of the cable lug and the pulling in of the conductor from the sleeve is prevented by the pressed-in beads. Etched sections have shown that the material of the sleeve and the wires flow together to form a homogeneous body, so that the contact between the strand and the sleeve is perfect. Tensile tests have shown that it is impossible to pull the wires out of the sleeve. The savings in assembly are considerable, and so is the total savings can be up to 60%.
