Description
Nov. 8, 1932, G. HUBER HOLDER FOR PANTS Filed Aug. 13. 1930 Fig. 4 is a vertical section of Fig. 3.
Patented Nov. 8, 1932 PATENT oar-Icaenone mm, on marine; swrrznnnann HOLDER FOB PANTS Application. filed August 13, 1930, Serial No. 474,9?5, and in Switzerland July 1, 1929.
If mens trousers are secured by belts, it is found that the pants are not sufficiently securely held and therefore easily slip'down.
- By using braces the method of securing the 5 pants is, not found practical, as it is necessary to remove the loops when changing the trousers, besides which the holding straps on the pants are unsightly.
In order to overcome these objections hold- 10 ing-devices for pants have been proposed, which have each a holding element adapted for accommodating the supporting loops of the pants and shaped in such a manner that the supporting bands can be inserted therein from above. These elements are closed by means of buttons, and in the case of solid parts a bent over portion of the body of the holder serves for the insertion. The constructions with buttons have been found too expensive and there is always a danger of forgetting to close same or that under certain influences they too easily become undone unintentionally. The constructions with bent over parts have been found too massive and in conjunction with bent over parts they are uncomfortable on the human body, as they cannot adapt themselves to the shape thereof. A further point is that there is nothing to positively prevent the supporting loops from slipping up, and separate securing elements are not practical. Owing to thepressure stresses the bent over part can easily break so that the life of the holder is limited. This invention relates to a holder for pants 7 through which thesedisadvantages are overcome. According to the invention a fastening element is provided with a holdingelement arranged for accommodating the loops m of the pants, and shaped so that the loops can be inserted therein from above.
Three embodiments of the invention are L illustrated by way of example in the .accom panying drawing in which:
Fig. 1 shows a form of construction infront elevation and Fig. 2is a vertical section of Fig. 1. Eig. 3 shows a second form of construction infront elevation.
inside of'the to provi e a channe r Fig. 5 shows the third form of construction in front elevation.
According to Fi s. 1 and 2 the holdin element 3 is stamped out of the fastening element 1 and the upper part of the former, which is curved, extends projectingly therefrom, holes 4 being provided in the element 1 for sewing to the inner side of the trousers. The loops of the pants come to rest illthfl' bend 2'. On the lower part of this holding element 3 cut out portions8 are provided in the side edges thereof at the bend 2', which cut-out portions enable an easy insertion of the loops of the, pants. The holding element 3 has at its lower end a bulge 11 and is curved and resilient, consequently the loops of the pants are clamped in the cut out portions 8,
so that a slipping upland therefore droppingout thereof is renderbd more diflicult.
As shown in Figs. 3 and 4 an abutment flap 9 extending downwards at an angle ma be provided in the holding element 3, whic flap is formed by stamping from the element 3 and is bent towards the fastening element 1. This flap is intended to'prevent slipping up of the loops of the pants suspended in the holding element. r
In order to render slipping up of the loops 1 of the pants more diflicult, the longitudinal sides of the holder element 3, when theseare stamped out of the fastening element, may be provided with hook shape projections 10 having edges downwardly extending at an angle as shown in Fig. 5. The loops in the cut out portions 8 come into contact with 35 the projections 10 when slipping up.
The subject matter of the invention is particularly suitable for holding pants and similar under clothes and is sewed on to the trousers at the side of the belt. a I claim.:- 1. A holder for pants, comprising a flexible celluloid plate provided with means for sewing directly onto the inner side of the. trousers and having a holding tongue directed towards the body of the wearer for accommodating the loops of the pants stamped out of the middle portion oft e plate forming a-bul e, said tongue being further formed o -like' loop holding space on one side of said bulge and an insertion space on the other side thereof, said tongue lying partly in the stamped out hole and being flexible and so shaped as not to hurt the body of the wearer.
2. A holder as specified in claim 1 in which on the highest point of the bulge an abutment is provided engaging in the cavity formed by stamping the tongue out of the plate, said abutment extending downwardly at an incline and projecting from the tongue.
In testimony whereof I aifix my signature.
GEORG HUBER.
