Abstract
A device and tool (15) are provided for capturing, rolling and securing hair. The device includes two rods, to which multiplicities of loops are attached, and a styling rod intended to hook and pull loops through hair. The two rods are fastened together around hair, securing hair between them (3, 4). Device is pulled away from head (5), and hair rolled around rods until a hair roll is formed and touching head (6). Styling rod is inserted upward between hair roll and scalp, and pushed upward (7). A loop is pulled through the hair using the styling rod, and said loop is fastened to the top & the bottom of the hair device (7, 8). This creates an attractive and secure hairstyle (9, 10), with the main point being that the hair device cannot be seen under, around, or in the hairstyle (9, 10).
Description
- For hundreds of years, humankind has strived for elegant and attractive hairstyles. Women spend millions of dollars each year on hair bands, combs, barrettes, ribbons, clips, picks, bobby pins and many more hair accessories. One feature that most hair styling accessories have in common is that the accessory can be seen outside of the hairstyle.
- As a woman, I have toiled many hours and used much effort in the quest for a “good hair day”. I have personally tried every hair styling accessory, device and tool in vain. With few exceptions, I have not managed to achieve a hairstyle that is simple, yet elegant . . . until now.
- The hair styling device, for which I am filing this application, is easy to use. The size may be adapted to form hair into the popular style known as a French Twist, or used in the smaller version to form a secure hair roll on the back of the head.
- In accordance with one aspect of the described invention, a device is provided which allows hair to be captured, rolled and secured on the back of the head without being seen on the outside of the hairstyle.
- In accordance with other aspects of the described invention, the device is constructed of two body rods, a cross member, a multiplicity of loops, and an additional rod used to complete the hairstyle.
- In accordance with other aspects of the described invention, the rods are formed of a rigid material, and the loops of an elastic material.
- In accordance with other aspects of the described invention, a method for using the hair styling device is provided. The method includes the step of hair being captured between the two body rods, the step of loops being fastened to tops of & bottoms of rods, and the step of rolling hair towards head. The method continues with end of styling rod being inserted between hair roll & scalp, the step of pushing styling rod up through hair, and the step of fastening a loop to secure the hairstyle. The method finishes with the styling rod being disengaged from loop, thus completing hairstyle.
- FIG. 1 are the components of my invention.
- FIG. 2 is the hair styling device assembled.
- FIGS.3-8 illustrate the use of the hair styling device
- FIGS.9-10 is how the hairstyle should look
- FIG. 11 is the list of components and legend
- FIGS.12-15 are how to assemble the hair device and tool
- FIGS.16-18 further demonstrate working actions of the hair device and tool
- FIG. 1 illustrates the components of my invention, which are two rods as the body, a multiplicity of loops, a length which shall be used as a cross member, and a styling rod used to pull loops through the hair
- FIG. 2 is my invention assembled, with body rods being secured at bottom, a loop secured at the top of a body rod, and the cross member secured between the two body rods
- FIG. 3. is the hair device capturing the hair between the two body rods by sliding device up the back of the head and under hair, then fastening the loop at tops of body rods, as shown in FIG. 4
- FIG. 5 is the hair device being pulled ¾ of the way to the ends of the hair
- FIG. 6 is the hair device being turned so the hair forms a roll around device and hair roll touches the head
- FIG. 7 is the pointed end of the styling rod being inserted between hair roll and scalp, then being pushed upwards. A loop is being pulled through the hair next to the hair roll by the styling rod, and then said loop is fastened at the bottom of the body rods
- FIG. 8 is the styling rod pushed out at the top of the hair roll, and the loop being fastened to the tops of the body rods. The styling rod should be disengaged at this time
