Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a wig, and more particularly, to an expandable wig, which is expandable in all directions so that anyone can wear without regard to sizes or shapes of the wearer's head, thereby providing a good feeling of wearing.
  • 2. Background Art
  • In general, persons, who are poor in hair or become baldheaded due to partial or overall loss of hair, mainly use wigs to hide their hair, but recently, the wigs are used as a fashion tool to express a wearer's peculiar and unique individuality.
  • In general, the wigs are divided into overall wigs, partial wigs, and wigs for a baldhead. The wig generally includes: a wig body having a convexly curved surface of the same form as the wearer; and a plurality of hairs affixed to the wig body. Natural hairs, artificial hairs or synthetic hairs can be used as hairs of wigs.
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a state where a conventional wig is turned inside out. As shown in FIG. 1, the conventional wig 1 includes: a wig body 9; a plurality of straight wig network bands 5, to which a plurality of hairs 3 are affixed, the wig network bands 5 being formed in a large oval shape like a cap, both front ends of each of the oval-shaped wig network bands 5 being sewed to the wig body 9; and elastic interval-keeping bands 7 for keeping the wig network bands 5 at regular intervals.
  • The conventional wig 1 is expandable at a predetermined distance in back and forth directions of the wig due to elasticity of the interval-keeping bands 7. However, the conventional wig 1 is little expandable in right and left directions (wig wearer's head sides) since the wig network bands 5 have no elasticity and the wig network bands 5 are combined to the interval-keeping bands 7 in a state where they are expanded in a straight line without break.
  • Accordingly, the wig wearer may feel somewhat comfortable at the front and rear parts of the head but feels an oppressive feeling or stifling feeling at the right and left sides of the head when he or she wears the wig.
  • That is, the wig wearer, who has a big or unusual head, receives a great oppressive feeling at the right and left sides of the head while wearing the wig since the conventional wig is expandable only in directions of the wig wearer's face and occipital region and not expandable in the right and left directions of the wearer's head.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • Accordingly, the present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems occurring in the prior arts, and it is an object of the present invention to provide an expandable wig, which is expandable in all directions, thereby providing a good feeling of wearing without providing the right and left sides of the wig wearer's head with any oppressive feeling.
  • To accomplish the above object, according to the present invention, there is provided an expandable wig, which comprises: a plurality of wig network bands, each having a plurality of hairs affixed thereto; interval-keeping bands for keeping the wig network band at regular intervals; a wig body, to which both front ends of each of the interval-keeping bands are sewed; a front mesh located at a front face of the wig body in such a way that a plurality of the wig network bands are densely sewed and fixed thereto, wherein a plurality of the wig network bands are combined to the interval-keeping bands discontinuously in a state where the wig network bands neighboring on each other relative to the interval-keeping bands are arranged in different lines from each other.
  • Furthermore, the wig network bands are combined to the interval-keeping bands in a state where they are arranged in an oblique line or in an X-form.
  • Moreover, the wig body comprises a length-adjustable band fit to the inside thereof for adjusting a length of the wig body and a plurality of head-fixing pins.
  • As described above, since the wig network bands does not take a structure that both front ends thereof are connected to the wig body in a state where the wig network bands are combined to the interval-keeping bands in a straight line without break but takes a structure that they are combined to the interval-keeping bands discontinuously in a state where the wig network bands neighboring on each other relative to the interval-keeping bands are arranged in different lines from each other, the expandable wig according to the present invention can be easily expanded not only in back and forth directions but also in right and left directions due to the structural feature.
  • Accordingly, the expandable wig according to the present invention does not give any oppressive feeling to the right and left sides of the wig wearer's head even though a person, who has a large or unusual head, wears it since it can be easily expanded not only in back and forth directions but also in right and left directions.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The above and other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will be apparent from the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments of the invention in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which:
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a state where a conventional wig is turned inside out;
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing a state where an expandable wig according to the present invention is turned inside out;
  • FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a wig network band of the expandable wig according to the present invention;
  • FIG. 4 is a partially enlarged view showing a state when the expandable wig is expanded in right and left directions; and
  • FIG. 5 is perspective view showing a state where the conventional wig and the expandable wig of the present invention are respectively expanded in the right and left directions.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Reference will be now made in detail to the preferred embodiment of the present invention with reference to the attached drawings.
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing a state where an expandable wig according to the present invention is turned inside out, and FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a wig network band of the expandable wig according to the present invention.
  • As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the expandable wig 10 according to the present invention includes: a plurality of wig network bands 15, each having a plurality of hairs 13 affixed thereto; interval-keeping bands 17 for keeping the wig network band 15 at regular intervals; a wig body 19, to which both front ends of each of the interval-keeping bands 17 are sewed; a front mesh 21 located at a front face of the wig body 19 in such a way that a plurality of the wig network bands are densely sewed and fixed thereto; a length-adjustable band 23 for adjusting a length of the wig body 9; and head-fixing pins 25.
  • Since the interval-keeping bands 17 are expandable in back and forth directions of the wig 10 and made of an elastic material and both front ends of the interval-keeping bands 17 are sewed to the wig body 19, the expandable wig 10 according to the present invention is expandable at a predetermined distance in back and forth directions, namely, in directions of a wig wearer's face and occipital region.
  • Each of the wig network bands 15 is constructed in such a way that a plurality of the hairs 13 are densely fixed to a band-shaped mesh 27, and has no elasticity. A plurality of the wig network bands 15 are combined to the interval-keeping bands 17 discontinuously in a state where the wig network bands 15 neighboring on each other relative to the interval-keeping bands 17 are arranged in different lines from each other, and finally, both front ends of the wig network bands 15 are connected to the wig body 19.
  • Accordingly, as described above, the expandable wig 10 according to the present invention is expandable not only in back and forth directions by the elastic interval-keeping bands 17 but also in right and left directions by the special combination between the wig network bands 15 and the interval-keeping bands 17. In FIG. 4, you can see a state where the wig according to the present invention is expanded in right and left directions.
  • FIG. 4 is a partially enlarged view showing a state when the expandable wig is expanded in right and left directions. As shown in FIG. 4, the expandable wig 10 according to the present invention takes a peculiar honeycomb shape and is easily expanded in right and left directions when the wig wearer pulls the wig in right and left directions since a plurality of the wig network bands 15 are combined to the interval-keeping bands 17 discontinuously in a state where the wig network bands 15 neighboring on each other relative to the interval-keeping bands 17 are arranged in different lines from each other.
  • Furthermore, in FIGS. 2 and 4, the plural wig network bands 15 are combined to the interval-keeping bands 17 in a straight line, but the combination is not restricted to the above and the wig network bands 15 can be combined to the interval-keeping bands 17 in an oblique line or in an X-form.
  • Moreover, FIGS. 5 a and 5 b illustrate states where the conventional wig 1 and the expandable wig 10 of the present invention are expanded in right and left directions, wherein, FIG. 5 a is a perspective view showing a state where the conventional wig 1 is expanded in the right and left directions and FIG. 5 b is a perspective view showing a state where the expandable wig 10 of the present invention is expanded in the right and left directions. As you can see from the drawings, while the conventional wig 1 is little expanded in the right and left directions since the wig network bands 5 are not expanded, the wig 10 according to the present invention can be expanded at least two inches more than the conventional wig 1.
  • In addition, the front ends of the wig network bands 15 and the interval-keeping bands 17 are sewed and fixed to the wig body 19, and the wig body 19 includes a mesh body in a form of gauze, lace or flower lace to conform to the wig wearer's head shape.
  • The wig body 19 further includes the length-adjustable band 23 fit into an inner space thereof to adjust the length of the wig body 19.
  • Furthermore, the front mesh 21 is formed in an approximately hemisphere shape in correspondence with the shape of the upper and middle region of the wig wearer's head and is a mesh body generally made of nylon. The front mesh 21 may be formed in a lozenge by being sewed to provide elasticity.
  • Moreover, a plurality of the head-fixing pins 25 are fixed to the bottom face of the wig 10, so that the wig 10 can be firmly fixed to the wig wearer's head.
  • Hereinafter, an operation of the expandable wig 10 according to the present invention will be described as follows.
  • First, the wig wearer divides and lifts up hairs of the wearer's rear head, puts the expandable wig 10 of the present invention into the hairs, fixes the wig 10 to the wearer's hairs using a plurality of the head-fixing pins 25, wraps the wearer's hairs with the expandable wig 10, and then, creates various hair styles.
  • Differently from the conventional wig, the expandable wig according to the present invention is expandable at the predetermined distance in the right and left directions, whereby it can remove inconvenience of the conventional wig, which oppresses the wig wearer's head sides.
  • While the present invention has been described with reference to the particular illustrative embodiment, it is not to be restricted by the embodiment but only by the appended claims. It is to be appreciated that those skilled in the art can change or modify the embodiment without departing from the scope and spirit of the present invention.
