Abstract

THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES GENERALLY TO IMPROVEMENTS TO HAIRPIECES AND MORE PARTICULARLY TO HAIRPIECES HAVING A NOVEL ARRANGEMENT OF HAIR STRANDS ASSOCIATED WITH A FLEXIBLE SHEET MEMBER. THE EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION DISCLOSED HEREIN INCLUDES A FLEXIBLE OR PLIABLE SHEET MEMBER HAVING A PREDETERMINED CONTOUR AND PERIPHERAL DIMENSION CONFORMING WITH A GIVEN SURFACE AREA OF A USER''S HEAD. A PLURALITY OF ADJACENTLY POSITIONED HAIRSTRANDS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH THE OUTER SURFACE OF THE SHEET MEMBER WHICH, IN THE AGGREGATE, AFFORD THE EXTERNAL APPEARANCE OF NATURAL HAIR. EACH STRAND COMPRISES A GIVEN LENGTH HAVING SECTIONS PENETRATING THE SHEET AT ADJACENTLY SPACED INTERVALS, THE INTERMEDIATE PORTION OF EACH STRAND ADHESIVELY SECURED TO THE UNDERSURFACE OF THE SHEET MEMBER.
